How good are you at playing arcades and overcome tricky obstacles? If you think that your reflexes are as sharp and precise as it can be, there is a great game that will test it out. Getting Over It is known among online gamers for extreme difficulty and you will repeatedly find yourself wanting to break your computer or smartphone and forget about this nightmare of trying to pass the same nasty spot over and over again. Only the most persistent and durable players will be able to get to the end of the game. Are you among them?

Incredibly challenging and hurdle-packed!

The gameplay of Getting Over It heavily relies on physics. To such an extent that even the slightest fluctuations can either help you finally cope with that hideous hurdle you’ve spent at least half an hour on – or send you falling all the way down and subsequently starting the whole long and tiring way all over again. The movement is directed upwards which makes it particularly painful to fail – whenever that happens, you don’t just remain at the same spot, but actually roll back at least a few meters because of the gravitational pull. So passing even a single level, even at the very beginning of the game is not a task for the weak!

A game with a philosophical coloring

It’s going to take you quite a while before you will get comfortable with the tricky physics of Getting Over It. There are very slight differences between a movement you need to do in order to hook your hammer onto a ledge and the one that will make you swish it in vain tumbling down into the abyss. Getting the hang of all these subtleties is going to be a long and sometimes discouraging process, but Bennet Foddy will be with you, as a voice without flesh, motivating you with various deliberations on how hard life is and how struggle can make you a better person.

Bennet Foddy is the guy who made the game and decided to spruce it up with all kinds of cute, wise and funny remarks probably mirroring his own philosophy. Maybe all the things he says will help you find strength to keep moving forward despite the bitterest failures. And at the very moment when you already want to quit, delete the game and forget that you ever launched it, you will get over that last obstacle and reach the end of the level feeling powerful and capable of anything, as never before!
